Dr. Rhona Mijumbi is a health policy analyst and research scientist based at Makerere University, College of Health Sciences in Uganda. She is a health systems researcher with special interest in the use of evidence in decision making processes. She led the establishment of the first-ever-known rapid response service to support policy making with health systems evidence in a low and middle income country under the Regional East African Community Health Policy Initiative (REACH-PI). She now leads the UsEvidence project that aims to scale these services up in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North African regions. She is involved in a number of capacity building initiatives in the fields of policy, research methods and knowledge translation. Dr. Mijumbi is currently awaiting to defend her thesis for a health policy doctorate having completed her coursework and research at McMaster University in Canada and Makerere University in Uganda, respectively.
