Mark is Executive Director of the Africa Cabinet Government Network (ACGN), an International NGO set up by African Cabinet Secretaries to share experiences and to improve Government decision-making processes. Dr. Johnston has more than 25 years’ experience supporting central government agencies in more than 20 countries across Africa and Asia, including Libya, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Egypt and South Sudan, as well as Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia and Afghanistan. A major focus of this work has been developing institutional capacities and procedures for evidence-informed decision-making by Cabinets.
Prior to his international work he spent a decade with the Australian Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in various senior positions. Mark has a PhD in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
